Marcelo Tubert

 
 

An incredibly versatile actor, Marcelo Tubert is known for his ability to change character and dialect, in both comedy or drama, with ease.


On TV he has been seen on “Cane” as the Family Attorney, Moises Greenberg and on Disney's "Cory In The House" as Ambassador Paroom.  His diverse recurring and guest-starring appearances include such shows as “Without a Trace,” "ER," "The War At Home" "Monk," "Halfway Home" "George Lopez," "The West
Wing," "JAG," "Frazier," & "Seinfeld."  His extensive voice career finds him in many hits, including,  "Over The Hedge," "Shrek II," “Shark Tale,” "Apocalypto," "Passion of the Christ," as well as many popular cartoon series, including eight years with “King of the Hill.”


In film, he recently concluded work on two indy films, B Girl and Barry Mundy.   He can also be seen as Father Pancracio in the fictional town of Falfúrrias, New Mexico, in the critically acclaimed feature, “Tortilla Heaven”.  Other film credits include "Miss Congeniality II: Armed and Fabulous" as the Italian Roberto Funichi, as well as "Tremors II: Aftershock,”  “Leprechaun 3,”  “Vampire in Brooklyn,” “Postcards from the Edge,” and Roger Corman’s “The Masque of the Red Death.”


As a Theatre actor, Marcelo has appeared at “The Mark Taper Theatre ,” “Yale Rep.,” “Milwaukee Rep.,” “New Mexico Rep.,“ “Taper, Too,“ “The Old Globe,” in San Diego, “Ojai Playwrights,” and “Sundance.”  He received the 2005 Ovation Award as Best Supporting Actor for his work in "San Fran Scapin," an adaptation of Moliere's "Scapin."


Born in Argentina, of Russian Jewish heritage, Marcelo moved with his family to Southern California at the age of 7.  A devoted family man, Marcelo and his wife, writer/director/producer Lori Tubert, have two daughters, Emily, 16, a nationally ranked Jr. golfer and Sarah, 15, a fluent signer and terrific volleyball and water polo player.  Marcelo's passions include fly fishing and cooking, which he shares with his daughters.
